Team Activity Days, Anyone For A Chardonnay?
Even in these uncertain financial times where budgets may be tighter than normal, many companies still recognise the importance of running team building activities for their staff. These days you can pretty much do any activity for your team building and their are companies who run team building days all over the country. New statistics from the London Business Union has shown however, that wine tasting tops the charts in terms of popularity.
More companies in London chose to crack out the bottle opener and send their employees to wine tasting venues last year than to any other location. There was a 15% increase in the number of bookings made at Vinopolis last year, who are the most prominent wine company in the city.
Team building experts Team Tactics have suggested there are a number of reasons why wine tasting is so in vogue right now with big companies. To start with, you don't have to leave the city in most instances to take part in these days and further more their are various companies who actually offer to come into the offices to run the activity. This means that staff do not have to travel to remote rural locations to take part and this saves money all round. Secondly, as team building days go, wine tasting is relatively cheap. The costs are pretty nominal to start with but on top of this, most wine tasting companies offer discounts for large bookings, which is not something a lot of other team building companies do. Lastly, wine tasting is a popular choice among staff as you can imagine, and it is also a very inclusive activity, where physical ability is not a participating factor
By strange coincidence, Harrods have just announced that wine is the biggest seller for people look for presents for their colleagues or employees. Wine accessories and various styles of wine rack were also up there for gift ideas, the most popular of which being their new cactus wine rack
